Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP newsletter sometimes makes me feel like she’s my crazy aunt who’s going through an identity crisis and no one in the family has the heart to crush her dreams…or at least like she’s the purse lady from Sex and the City. After telling us how to cook a chicken and what to read, Gwyneth now wants to tell us all what to buy for this spring.
“Hands down, our most coveted, most transitional must-have for spring
is the dress. Put it in a rich royal sapphire color with classic
details that DVF does so well – a fitted waist, tiered bottom and
flirty cut – and you have a piece that will take you effortlessly from
day to night.” So will you be buying me that $300 dress I have to have?
Gwyneth, pictured March 10 in Abu Dhabi, also recommends “the little white dress,” for the warmer months ahead. “In all its
incarnations, it is the perfect piece to pack for all your summer
getaways.” Thank you for informing me that white dresses are a summer staple; I would never have known Auntie Gwyn!

Ewwww.. DREADFUL hair colour. It really is FAR too yellow.
smug much?
It’s clear the recommendations were made by the Elle Magazine stylist, not by Gwyneth. She showed the expensive version then offered affordable alternatives. The only way I see to get it cheaper would be to hope that a store like Target or a thrift store carries something similar, which just never happens in my smaller size. As another commenter noted, this is no different from what the magazines do. I can’t wait to check out that H&M dress!
