As the heart and soul of The CW’s Gossip Girl, New York has had many an iconic moment on the drama series. From Lincoln Center to The Hamptons, shots of the city have been equally as integral to the show as Serena van der Woodsen’s cleavage.
Today at Silver Cup Studios, Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared today “Gossip Girl Day.” Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Matthew Settle and Kaylee DeFer were there to receive the Mayoral Proclamation to celebrate 100 episodes of the stylish series.
“I feel like in one way I’ve been here my whole life, so it’s like, oh my god! It’s the 100th episode! It seems like an entire lifetime, but at the same time it’s happened so fast. It just seems like we came here yesterday,” Leighton Meester said prior to the ceremony, according to E!. “With so much going on with Blair in the 100th episode, Meester says, “I kind of just want to see what happens with Blair. I want to continue to live that other part of life. It feels like a little alter ego of my life that I get to explore and growth with.
