It seems that retail chain Target has pulled out of a deal to see designer Anna Sui’s Gossip Girl-inspired fashion line. Gossip Girl producers are reportedly furious after Target suddenly dropped the collaboration.
Apparently Target felt that working with a show as raunchy and racy as Gossip Girl would be bad for the family friendly image. One insider claims that the show was even going to shoot a party scene at Anna Sui’s New York store with models wearing the Anna Sui outfits and Target’s bulls eye symbol everywhere in purple and black, Anna’s signature colors.
Even though it will no longer be associated with Gossip Girl, Target is still going to sell the Anna Sui line, so we can all stare and try to guess which outfit would be inspired by who.
I don’t even know what Target is thinking. Don’t they realize that by working with something as popular as Gossip Girl their sales would skyrocket? I’m offended for Gossip Girl. Plus, this season looks like it’s going to be amazing!
