Ellen Pompeo may be next in line to give Grey’s Anatomy the heave-ho. The once-gripping drama now more resembles a day-time soap, with many of its key actors long done such as T.R. Knight and Katharine Heigl. With its completely unrealistic plots and shameless ratings grabs, perhaps Pompeo is also tired of living in la-la land.

“I haven’t said I’m moving on,” Pompeo told Extra. “When my contract is up after Season 8 [in two years], I would probably
not renew. I think the world has had a lot of Meredith Grey.” While 8 seasons is way long, it seems Pompeo, pictured in New York with her husband Chris Ivery and their daughter on May 4, has little faith in the struggling show. With complaints from the actors to boot, it doesn’t seem like this show is making anyone happy.

 Ellen also has a new baby, so perhaps that ending may come sooner rather than later so she can spend time with her little girl.
