Haaz Sleiman’s Role As Mo-Mo On ‘Nurse Jackie’ Is No Mo’

December 23rd, 2009 // 5 Comments

As ardent fans of the Showtime series starring Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie, we were bummed at the news that Haaz Sleiman‘s gay male nurse character, Mo-Mo, won’t be returning to the show’s second season.

Executive producer for the series, Richie Jackson, explains to the New York Daily News, “Originally, we had intended Mo-Mo to be Jackie’s best friend, but as season one progressed, other characters naturally evolved into that role.”

An inside source adds, “Everybody loves him. This has nothing to do with any internal conflicts–the story line just seemed to have run its course.”

Although we are among those left disappointed that Sleiman will no longer be a part of the series, we’ll still be tuning in because, quite frankly, we’re addicted and have no intention of quitting.

Season 2 of Nurse Jackie is scheduled to premiere March 22, 2010, at 10PM on Showtime.

so why not keep him on the show? just because he can’t be the catty queer in the corner doesn’t negate the role completely.

    weird.

Finally a somewhat positive Arab-American person on TV and they had to go and get rid of him. I guess Americans only like their Arabs portrayed as terrorists.

His character was a bright spot on that show. Really enhanced the show. Dumb move. We’ll see if I’m interested after he’s gone. Not as likely…

that’s too bad. I don’t see why they should remove the character though. bad decision to start changing characters so early into the series.

I was glad that they got rid of him His character was not likable. He was always smart with an attitude & it didn’t come across funny at all just annoying. I like the new guy Sam he is much more likable
