Jay Manuel is 36 years orange today. For those of you who don’t know (straight men and women who like PBS), Jay is the “art director” for all of those photo shoots you see on America’s Next Top Model.

He’s the silver-haired Oompah Loompah that is always telling girls to stop crying over their makeovers and spread their legs higher and wider. He stands behind the photographer and yells things like “Give me something other than angry, Neisha!” and “Girl, you looked the opposite of sporty in that one!”

Word on the street is that Jay does not get along  at all with his boss Tyra Banks. In fact, he’s  always the reason people give when rumors start about her leaving her one of the most ridiculous shows on Earth. Just keep them in separate corners. Let Tyra rant her crazy on the podium and Jay will work his orange magic from the street. I need this show to go on. I also need a life, apparently. A big one.
