As one of the highest paid, and most well-known actors in Hollywood, one would assume that Harrison Ford would
reflect on his career with dozens of stories and a multitude of advice
for those hoping to follow in his footsteps. However, rather than doing
so, Ford made is clear in a recent interview with The Independent that he’s just “in it for the money.”

Discovered
while working as a carpenter, on a cabinet job for George Lucas, one
may describe Ford’s introduction to the acting world as something out
of a fairy tale. Nonetheless, Ford is rather Frank about his
aspirations and why he is still taking on some of the most sought after
roles in Hollywood.

Now, the 67 year old father of four, is taking on a new role as a
pharmaceutical executive who goes “beyond the parameters of his job
after his two children as diagnosed with a terminal disease in the
emotional drama Extraordinary Measures.” While he doesn’t have much to
say about how the role relates to his own life claiming, “I don’t see
this as an opportunity for me to suddenly leap on a soapbox and begin
to talk about the pharmaceutical industry of the desperate plight of
sick children,” Ford typically “creates a character out of the things [he] hopes will tell the story.”

Despite his success, when asked if there is anything left that he
wishes for, the actor said, “Yeah, I want to be rich and famous!”
Ultimately, Ford’s desire to work hard for the money stems from his need to
ensure that “what value he puts on his own work is the value that he has.”
