Even though she’s young, Hayden Panettiere already has a reputation of being very vocal when it comes to championing causes that are near and dear to her heart.

The 19-year-old Heroes star has been a high-profile supporter of the Save the Whales! campaign and is now lending her celebrity to the cause of preventing teen pregnancy. Teaming up with the Candie’s Foundation and Bristol Palin, Hayden attended a town hall meeting in NYC to discuss the issue.

Panettiere told OK! magazine, “I don’t think it’s something that’s talked about enough and I think that it’s just human nature to not realize the severity of an issue until it happens to you, until it directly impacts your life.”

That Hayden seems to have a good head on her shoulders. And a good head of hair on that head. And I’m jealous of both.
