The CW will soon debut HMS, a medical drama about a group of “bright students” at Harvard Medical school, according to The Hollywood Reporter. HMS is the brainchild of Mystic Pizza writer Amy Holden Jones, who will also serve as executive-producer. Another big name attached to the project is Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, who signed on as co-executive producer. This will mark a producing debut for Panettiere.
Seeking to build a medical drama franchise, the CW resurrected the script after passing on it in 2004. I guess they figured now was the perfect time to match up magical cheerleaders with med students. Timing is everything.
Something tells me the real Harvard medical school won’t be psyched about this whole CW-medicine thing. Who else sees red flags?
