The news of the divorce of Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora comes just over a month after the obligatorily denial there were any marital problems. No worries, Heather Locklear will bounce back.
Us Weekly is the first to report that actress Heather Locklear, 44, has filed for divorce from rocker Richie Sambora, 46. In a statement to Us, Locklear’s publicist said, ”After 11 years of marriage Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Richie Sambora. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.” In her filing, Locklear cites ”irreconcilable differences” and requests physical custody of their child.
The couple wed in December 1994 and share a daughter, Ava Elizabeth, 8. Locklear, who most recently starred opposite Hilary Duff in the 2005 comedy The Perfect Man, was previously married to rock star Tommy Lee from May 1986 to August 1993. It was Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora’s first marriage.
In December, Locklear denied there were problems in the marriage after rumors surfaced, telling Us that ”everything is fine” and boasting that her husband had just given her a Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace for their 11th anniversary.
We are saddened by this news. At least she has her Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace to help with the healing.

Wow celebrity couples are dropping like flies. I just read on Media Take Out that Denzel’s wife just filed for divorce.

yes, it is sad…they always looked so happy in pictures and in interviews.
they were one of those couples that I thought would actually “make it”.
oh, well.
on a different note, I never thought that Locklear had implants until I saw the above picture. and in that pic, it looks pretty clear that she does. at least, when that pic was taken she did.
That is sad, I thought they were a real strong couple. And has anyone seen their daughter? She’s one of the most beautiful little girls I’ve ever seen in my life!

Marriage is hard even when you’re just a regular person, I can’t imagine how difficult it would be if you were constantly in the spotlight. I don’t envy married celebs. Too bad, I always feel a twinge of disappointment when couples we all thought were okay file for divorce, especially when there are kids in the mix.

Hmmmmmmm, very strange that just a couple of weeks ago, Rob Estes also divorced Josi Bisset.
Maybe Heather and Rob had an affaire during their Melrose Place time. And now that they both are free….
Listen it is not easy when life challenges a union between a man and a woman. Staying married is the hardest thing to do in a humans life. This is a challenge for Richie and Heather. If they can pull together and come to terms with whatever occured. Maybe they can see 11 successful years of bonding and having a beautiful daughter who is healthy can inspire them to look past this episode in their life. Even if infidelity is the issue I have seen it is not impossible to recover and to reunite even stronger. First I could suggest to teach who ever had the affair that an aids test is the next step for both of them thanks to the wanderer. Today you have to think about consequences of falling into a meanless event. Richie obviously should regret if he had the affair. He should see that today you are in your 40′s then 50′s then 60′s and hopefully so on. well there is more to a relationship than physical. If he did wander maybe testing and hopefully negative results would get him to see marrige is only as hot and trusting as you are. Now most people actually respond sorry and wiser not to do it again. If Heather gives in then she is letting some passh. PassHerBy to break up her family. Now her family unit is stronger and more important than the PassHerBy!!!
i CAN’T BELIEVE THEY’RE CALLING IT QUITS. I LOOK UP TO BOTH OF THEM, THEY SEEMED TO BE THE PERFECT COUPLE IF THERE IS SUCH A THING. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN’T BELIEVE EVERY THING THAT THE MEDIA POSTS.
SAD! IT HAD ALWAYS SEEMED TO ME THAT RICHIE WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE COUPLE WHO WAS IN LOVE…
Although I do not know Heather and Richie, the news of them splitting up is very depressing. Especially when they have been reported by close friends associated with them to have been the perfect couple. That they really loved one another and had found their soul mates. Do you know how rare that is to find? You are lucky to find that special someone just one time in your life. And I can guarantee that neither one will probably ever have that again. Marriage can be a tough business. It is not always what we want and expect it to be. It always takes two to keep it alive, even through the rough times. Maybe not always both giving 50/50, but a give and take that balances out in the end. But if you really love one another you find a way to get through the rough times. Nothing wonderful in life is always easy to obtain. If it was we wouldn’t appreciate what we have. I hope this will be the case for these two great people. Maybe through some separation time they both will appreciate what they had and realize that they can have that again. I hope sometime in the near future I either read or hear on the news that they are reconciling. If by chance this gets read by either one of them, remember nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes which I am sure they both have done many times in this relationship, which you will continue to do. That’s what life is all about. You have to learn to forgive rather than decide to live life without one another. I truly believe in my heart that they will be back together stronger than ever one day. If they don’t then they truly didn’t find that one great love and soulmate that we all hope to find someday.
