Henry VIII Is Cured

May 10th, 2007 // 6 Comments

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is all through with rehab . After two weeks. Is that how it works? Do they have short stays like that? That’s barely enough time to get a room, find some junkie model to bang, leave to go shopping and score some coke, and even have one group therapy session. And he’s from Ireland or whatever, so that’s not even enough time for his family to fly over to tell him how they’ve ruined his lives with his addiction. It’s like drive-through rehab!

The Irish-born actor – who played Scarlett Johansson’s lover in Woody Allen’s ‘Match Point’ – was seen at a Los Angeles restaurant with a mystery brunette, just two weeks after being treated for alcoholism. A source told Access Hollywood: “Jonathan looked great. He had a newly shaved head and he is looking in incredible shape.

“He joked and flirted with the woman as they enjoyed a meal together, but he stuck to drinking Coca Cola.”

Meyer’s representative Meredith O’Sullivan previously revealed her client entered rehab following a grueling filming schedule.

She said: “After a non-stop succession of filming, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has entered an alcohol-treatment programme. He felt a break was needed to maintain his recovery.”

I’m sorry, but whenever I hear “grueling” and “film schedule’ in the same sentence, I must scoff! Bitch, you have a film schedule. People send you outfits to wear. You have scads of money. F*ck that “grueling” noise. Snuff films are a “grueling film schedule”. Whiny.

Evidently going to the “spa” and going to “rehab” are the same thing.

Since when was rehab considered a “break”? I thought it was an attempt to cure a disease. If this is the case, I guess I will check into rehab for a break from a full time job and being a single mom. Sign me up!

He got pretty sick while filming in remote China a few months ago. In fact, a lot of the cast and crew did. He’s gorgeous.

Two weeks??!! Not even long enought to break a habit let alone an addiction. Just another PR stunt, or a way to get out of a contract or a bargain with a prosecuter to stay out of jail.
