I believe that’s the sound of the starter pistol for the bride wars. 

Hockey player Mike Comrie put a ring rock on it and while I really can’t pretend I know anything about diamonds, I know that a) 14 karats is big b) $1 million is a lot of money c) It looks bigger than Nicole Richie‘s ring and d) the Disney star must give good….advice

Can anyone estimate how many karats Nicole’s ring is?

I didn’t think hockey players got paid that much, but it turns out the Edmonton Oilers center is also the heir to The Brick, a Canadian home furnishings retail empire.  Oh Canada! Until now I would have given points to Nicole for Joel Madden being the more intriguing fiance, but since I don’t know either of them this game must be played superficially I would say rock star and heir are neck and neck. Comrie also reportedly gave his 22 year old fiancee a $100,000 Mercedes when they first started dating and now the two are close to buying a $10 million home in Beverly Hills.

I’m not sure what’s coming next, but I have a feeling that fashion mogul Nicole is going to sweep the wedding gown competition. Stay tuned for the next round of wedding wars…
