Kidding. This is Johnny Depp presenting a lifetime achievement award to best bud, Tim Burton at the Venice Film Festival. Tim was honored for his many contributions to the cinemative landscape over the years, such as “Ed Wood”, “Batman”, “Big Fish”. You name it. If it was quirky, turned on the Goth kiddies, and had incredibly annoying Danny Elfman music in it – it’s Tim Burton’s.

“I’m very honoured,” said Burton, 49. “It means a lot to me. Hopefully it just inspires me to keep going.”

He told Reuters: “You grow up in Hollywood and that whole scenario and what you feel here is that there is just passion about movies. So that’s what makes it special to me – it’s not about business, it’s not about finance, it’s about just the love of movies.”

The festival bigwigs named Wednesday as “Tim Burton Day”. Which means everyone needs to start combing their hair with a rock. Seriously, Tim, I know you’re an artiste but get a barrette or something. Even Depp is giving you the side-eye. The cool thing about being a respected Hollywood director is that as long as you keep making blockbusters, you can show up looking like anything you want. One of the Wachowski Bros. is now a woman. Francis Ford Coppola weighs about 3,000 lbs. And Tim Burton just peed on the window at Starbuck’s and went about his day. That’s the life!
