Weeds actor Hunter Parrish (seen here in photos from the last episode of the Showtime series) will star as Jesus in the Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz’s musical Godspell, which will begin previews at Circle in the Square on October 13, with an official opening set for November 7.

In addition to his TV work, Parrish was also a cast member of the recent Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening.

“I am elated to be joining the Godspell family, and honored to be a part of bringing this thrilling classic back to Broadway,” Parrish said in a statement. “I knew after meeting with the creative team that I was going to be a part of something really exciting. I can’t wait to get started.”
