Little Haley Joel Osmet, the adorable child actor from “The Sixth Sense” is charged with doing a very bad grown up thing.

TMZ has learned that actor Haley Joel Osment will officially be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in conjunction with that accident.

He lost control of his 1995 Saturn on his way home collided with a brick pillar in a suburb around 1 a.m. on July 20. No bystanders were injured in the wreck, but Osment wasn’t so lucky: the actor was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a broken rib and a shoulder injury.

The collision caused the vehicle to flip over onto its roof and come to rest a short distance from the initial impact. The actor was reportedly alert and talkative following the accident, and was alone at the time of the crash.

Is this the tale of another child actor gone bad, or just one stupid mistake? Stay tuned.

Another child actor down the tube. Maybe he and Danny Bonaduce can compare sob stories!

Damn, Trix beat me to it.

It’s a sad day when a celeb is still driving a 1995 Saturn. I think he’s up next to take Gary Coleman’s place in the Cash Call commercials.
