Ian Thorpe: Sinking Or Swimming?

January 28th, 2009 // 8 Comments

Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe has packed on the pounds after
retiring from competing in his chosen sport. The 26-year-old Olympian’s
physique was a far cry from the body he displayed during the height of
his athletic training when he was recently spotted at Dolans Bay in
Sydney.

But it’s understandable that Thorpe has had to move up a few belt notches, since U.S. swimming champ Michael Phelps
confessed to eating approximately 12,000 calories a day to fuel his
daily swimming routine. It’s got to be hard to cut back after getting
to enjoy a caloric intake that would easily make a person bulk up and quickly.

And considering the Spartan lifestyle of hardbody and fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman, Ian’s probably a hell of a lot happier. And buoyant.

Yeah, he’s put on a few pounds, which is fine. But he DOES need to get a different size of shorts.

ES UNO DE LOS MEJORES NADADORES DE FREESTYLE QUE HUBO. DESPUES DE MUCHOS AÑOS DE ENTRENAR Y DEJAR LA CARRERA PROFESIONAL ES LOGICO QUE SE DEDIQUE A TENER UNA VIDA DE PLACER. IGUAL FUE INIGUALABLE, MEJOR QUE MICHEAL PHELPS EN FREESTYLE
