When “American Idol” runner-up, Katharine McPhee, contacted the show to try and get in on last season’s finale action, she was disappointed to hear that they weren’t interested. Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks, Elliot Yamin and Kellie Pickler, who all competed against Katharine in the fifth season of “Idol,” each made appearances this past season, with McPhee conspicuously missing from the line-up.
“Katharine called them herself, trying to get on the [finale],” a source close to the singer tells Us. “She’s really hurt.”
I guess if it makes her feel any better, she’s in good company, since Kelly Clarkson’s on Clive Davis’ shit list at the moment. The two of them should form an “American Idol” Voltron and like, make a giant singing robot to fight evil, or something.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it were true. She was “sick” during the Idol tour and missed it, or most of it.
I think she is one of those non-appreciative former Idol contestants that would rather distance herself from the show UNLESS it can benefit her bottom line.
