‘Inglourious Basterds’ Kills At The Box Office

August 24th, 2009 // Leave a Comment

Despite its awkward spelling, Quentin Tarantino‘s latest film, Inglourious Basterds, kicked ass and took names at the box office on its opening weekend. The WWII film, starring Brad Pitt, took in an impressive $37.6 million in ticket sales with its debut over the weekend.

This weekend’s opening marks the best ever for director, Quentin. A box office analyst for Hollywood.com interprets that as follows: “Tarantino helped build the house of Miramax. He’s proving right now that he’s helping to build the house of Weinstein.”

It seems Quentin’s insistence on casting Brad Pitt was a smart move. He might be able to save the A-listers from oblivion after all!
