James Van Der Beek Welcomes New Baby

James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly Brook announced via Twitter the birth of their baby daughter. (Note: what is it with celebs announcing pregnancies and births over Twitter now? What happened to an old fashioned birth announcement?). He and Brook married just this summer.

“Had
the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend,” James tweeted. “Couldn’t come
close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters.”

“I
apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that
may follow,” the sometimes actor continued. “I’m under her spell…”  

Aw! OK, tweeting acceptable about baby announcements when they make me melt.
