This is a surprise. Janet Jackson, the Jackson family member who has laid the lowest and remained the quietest since the death of Michael Jackson, is set to make a special appearance at the 2009 Video Music Awards.

Janet will open the awards show, doing what, we won’t know until the awards are presented Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9PM. Previous reports noting that choreographer Frank Gaston is involved are erroneous.
