Sure, Europeans are more lax about their legal drinking age, but giving alcohol to a six-year-old? Now that’s an early start.
During his appearance on yesterday’s episode of Live With Kelly And Michael, Oscar winning actor Javier Bardem discussed how he was introduced to Spanish nightlife.
As the No Country For Old Men actor explained, it all started with an accidental role on his mother’s TV show. At five years old, Bardem filled in for another child actor who’d gotten sick, and bonded with the crew. “They would go out and have a drink, and they would take me with them. I was like six or seven when I was out in clubs dancing.”
This revelation raises many questions, namely: what does a child do in da club alongside adults twice his size? How did mini-Bardem manage not to get crushed? Also, what does a drunk six-year-old even look like?
Well, the actor’s shocking club days are behind him, as Bardem was on the show to promote his new film The Counselor, which comes out today. In the drama thriller, Bardem acts alongside an A-list cast (which includes his wife Penelope Cruz, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Cameron Diaz) as an entrepreneur who moonlights as a drug kingpin.
