Jenna James Talks Cancer and Miscarriage

April 18th, 2007 // 9 Comments

Holy medical problems, Batman. Jenna Jameson spoke with Us Weekly about her bout with cancer, and her miscarriage, both of which took place nearly three years ago. Basically, a doctor saw a suspicious-looking mole on Jenna and tests revealed that it was, in fact, malignant melanoma. Before surgical procedures could be taken, the results of a blood test showed that Jameson was pregnant, however, she miscarried the child a day later–most likely a result of the physical and emotional strain placed on her by the presence of cancer in her system.

The following month, Jameson had the mole excised and has been 100 percent cancer-free ever since. In an exclusive interview, the 33-year-old devout Catholic (and author of How to Make Love Like a Porn Star) tells Us Weekly that she’s made peace with her heartbreak.

“If the pregnancy would have lasted, I wouldn’t have had the surgery,” she says. “So it was all in God’s plan.”

Whoah, wait–she’s Catholic? If I were to be a porn star and be religious, I don’t think I’d pick the one with all of the guilt and shame-of-sex stuff. Like…do they have a Catholicism Lite, perchance?

As a practicing but not devout Catholic, I think “Catholicism Lite” is perfect for me! Good phrasing Lisa, I’m definitely gunna work it into my vocabulary next time I get in a fight with my parents over not wanting to get married or have kids, HA!

Ummmmm, they removed a mole! It’s not surgery, both my Mom and grandma had malignant melanoma and had moles removed. I’m not sure why she wouldn’t have done this if she were pregnant cause it wouldn’t have harmed a thing. In fact, it’s a doctors office visit, a bit of numbing cream then they cut it out.
