Jennifer Aniston Defeats Brad Pitt At The Box Office

December 27th, 2008 // 17 Comments

“Oh, wasn’t his little old man becomes young movie so quaint..? But I have A DOG on my side! BWAH HAHAHAHHA!” That was a Jennifer Aniston impression. Aniston’s dog movie Marley & Me beat the stuffing out of ex-husband Brad Pitt‘s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at the Christmas Day box office on Thursday.

Aniston’s flick with Owen Wilson and a canine came in at $14.6 million (a record setter), while Brad’s karmic payback rang up $11.8 million. Maybe it’s because he looked a little creepy as a hobbit? They should have put Tilda Swinton in the forefront. That alien majestrix could sell anything.

“We all want our movie to do well…Can we have a tie?” Aniston joked on Oprah about the competition. Hah! Out the side of her mouth, she was laughing! She knew dogs always bring em’ in. There’s the possibility of puppies!

    Go Jennifer!!!!

Brad talked and talked about Angie and the kids to sell his movie…and it did not help, Jen talked about herself and showed off her boyfriend and she got a beating. She worked hard to promote the film, and had nothing kind words for him. She should just have saved her breath, he had no kind words for her but rubbed her face in the dirt.
So this is sweet revenge for her!
    Go Jen!

the break up made better money on its opening day than Marley and me…
sorry jen it made twice as much as Marley and me.

I dont consider that success do you?

in fact studios consider that a big thumbs down on the profit scale.

puhleez…i think his did great considering how many theaters it played at.

I just dont understand why this woman-chin gets so much attention…there are more beautiful talented actor’s out there doing some amazing work thats money worthy…with the recession I gotta watch where I spend my pennies ;)

hmm, Brad talking about his beautiful family…what an amazing great thing to hear! Where as bitter girl talked wacko nonsense.

Oh please! This is just lame. ANISTON IS NOT THE STAR OF MARLEY & ME! For God’s sake, the woman is playing THIRD FIDDLE TO A DOG AND OWEN WILSON! She’s barely in half of the movie. Plus the dog flick is in 500 more theaters and playing about 2,000 times per day more across the country than CCOBB. Nevermind the fact that CCOBB is 2 hours and 40 minutes long and A SERIOUS MOVIE, not mind-numbing dreck that was falsely marketed as a feel-good doggie movie for the whole family. People are leaving the movie mad because they feel cheated that the commercials were so misleading – not that the studio cares.

Also – gotta laugh – fug Aniston in a dog movie. How appropros.

Happy for Owen and the dogie. They were great! Sweet movie but Aniston acted like her character from Friends. I do hope she develops her skills one day and takes more challenging and interesting roles. But can she?
Pitt’s movie is awesome…..and it will probably surpass Marley & Me after a couple weeks. He should win an Oscar/golden globe, he definitely deserves one.

TCCBB was long boring and tedious. Plus, Brad Pitt is annoying in any role. Marley and Me was predictable yet light. Not some mind numbing yarn trying to be artful and profound.

I should have gone to see marley and me. the curious case benjamin button was so so.

who cares its a dog movie.
all dog movies do well in the movies the first few days

    Bolt
    Beethoven(reminds me of this movie)
    all dogs go to heaven..
    Lady and the tramp
the list goes on and on.
    Beverly hills chichuahua

in two weeks there is another dog movie coming out with Lisa Kudrow and the more juicier movies will then take over.
after all there are no movies coming out next week. and most of us tend to party all the way till after new years.
