Jeremy Piven dropped out of the Broadway production of Speed-The-Plow two months early, causing ticket sales to droooooooop, and pissing everyone off that was involved. Piven claims that he has mercury poisoning and could no longer go on, but then went and picked up waitresses and looked just swell at the Golden Globes. The producers of the show have now filed an official grievance with Actors’ Equity. You’ll never work in this 20 below zero town again, douche!
“The producers of SPEED-THE-PLOW have officially filed a grievance with
Actors’ Equity re: Jeremy Piven’s departure. A date for these
proceedings is to be determined,” producer Jeffrey Richards stated.
Piven’s spokesfreak is all will-nilly about the filing.
“His symptoms included extreme fatigue, spacial problems, difficulty
remembering his lines, difficulty maintaining his balance, and an
alarmingly low resting heart rate. Mr. Piven followed his doctors’
advice, although his forced withdrawal from the show was an enormous
personal disappointment since it was a life-long dream to perform on
Broadway,” his rep says.
In Piven’s defense, all that rehearsal and performing every night really takes away from meeting the ladies. And you can’t disappoint the ladies.
