Someone’s not happy with Playboy magazine. Jessica Alba’s lawyers (who are also Lindsay Lohan’s lawyers), sent out a legal threat to Playboy magazine over the cover photo shown below. Apparently, Lavely & Singer (the lawyers), seem to think that the public may assume the starlet would appear nude. Scandalous.
Actress Jessica Alba, who appears in a bikini on the cover of Playboy’s March issue, is threatening to sue the magazine, claiming that Hugh Hefner & Co. are trying to make it seem that she appears in a “nude or semi-nude pictorial.” In a February 23 legal threat letter, a copy of which you’ll find below, Alba’s lawyer demands that Playboy cease distributing the magazine and provide the 25-year-old actress with a “monetary settlement” for its unauthorized use of her image for commercial purposes. According to Brian Wolf, Alba’s counsel, the venerable men’s magazine has caused the young star “immeasurable harm” by placing her on its cover (Alba appears next to a cover line billboarding a story on the 25 sexiest celebrities). Wolf charges that Playboy initially offered to pay Alba to appear on the cover, but that they were flatly turned down. The magazine, he added, then resorted to a ruse to obtain a promotional photo of a bikini-clad Alba from Columbia Pictures. That sultry image, from the film “Into the Blue,” appears on Playboy’s cover.

Oh no they didn’t! That is just wrong. I’d be on fire pissed if Playboy stuck my photo on their cover without my permission. She should sue the pants off…….oh wait, it’s a nudie magazine………she should sue the pants back ON em.
Jessica needs to chill. She acts like being on the cover of playboy is gonna destroy her image. It’s not like she took her clothes off. If anything it will boost her career cuz personally I dont think she can act.

I don’t think she really cares about being on the cover. She’s about to get PAID. That’s what it really comes down to. She’ a b-list celebrity at best. She could use the money.
I think the money issue is key here. Hef wanted to pay her to be on the cover, and that’s just what he’s going to get. Next year’s “it” girl will be stuck in the same position.
There seems to be a counter trend of women like Alba and Rachel McAdams who just don’t want to do that sort of thing, even if Tom Ford is involved. Honestly, I kind of like it.

This is funny. I read an interview of Jessica Alba months ago, after F4 came out. She was saying she hates to dress in skimpy clothes and would rather cover up. THEN I saw the cover of Playboy two weekends ago. I was like “NO WAY . . . miss I-like-to-cover-up is posing NUDE???” I told my boyfriend – “there’s no way she’s in there naked.” He said “She HAS to be – she’s on the cover!” So we go to look through, but we ended up giving up before we looked through it all (got busy doing something else . . .). Anyway, now that I hear the rest of the story, it’s like so funny that I was surprised about it and sure enough, she isn’t in there naked after all.
LIGHTEN UP!!!! WHERE ELSE COULD YOU GET FREE PUBLICITY? IT DOESN’T HARM HER PRECIOUS REPUTATION ONE BIT. ANYTHING FREE IS GOOD!!!

And look at Up and Comer Diora Baird! She was supposed to be on the new series South Beach, but after doing Playboy this past Aug, She was not in the Show suddenly!Coincidence? I think NOT! Hefner should get off his high horse, and stop thinking he’s 28 yrs old! Joe Francis is headed the same way if he doesn’t clean up his act too!
