Joan Rivers arrived in Sydney for the Annual Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade and she had a few things to say. She hates Mel Gibson, says Nicole Kidman is “way too skinny” and thinks the Mardi Gras has been poorly organized.

En route from New Orleans, where she featured in the pre-Lent parade, the former celebrity journo, who is hosting a “pink carpet” at tomorrow’s gay and lesbian march and reporting back to Foxtel, thought she would be part of the gala.

Joan said, “I have a manager and I think he was drunk when he did this – I thought I was going to be on a float,” she said. “It’s very disorganized.”

While happy to gush about her “venomous” stand-up show at the Enmore tonight, Rivers quickly turned when talk switched to Gibson.

“I hate him so much – he doesn’t like Jews and I’m Jewish,” she said. “I will never talk with him in a room with an oven.”

She saw Australia on the plane and said it was like catching up with mates Hugh Jackman and Kidman, but Nic could use some food: “I love her but she’s way too skinny.”
