Some may know him as frontman for Good Charlotte, others from his relationship with Nicole Richie, now a whole new group is going to know Joel Madden, as he ventures into the world of books.

Joel confirmed to People on Saturday that he’s working on a memoir. “I’m lightly working on one,” he said, “but I don’t want to put a book out there if it’s not actually meaningful. I’m not going to go there unless I can deliver. It would be about my life. It would be about, mostly, the big changes in my life: Kids, relationships, moving to L.A…the big life changes that I’ve gone through.”

Joel does say though that it’s not going to be one of those Hollywood tell all books. “If I put a book out, I want it to be something that matters to me,” he says. “It has to be real, you can’t just put a book out, to put a book out. I want every page to mean something.”

Joel and girlfriend Nicole are currently expecting their second child, so I don’t know how often Joel will get to write once that baby arrives. Personally, I just want to read about his relationship with Hilary Duff. That thing still makes no sense to me.
