On a post John Mayer wrote for the Huffington Post, he starts off by waxing poetic about 9/11 and how much it affected him personally.

Mayer laments that “to wait in line for 23 years only to have the ‘sorry,
future canceled’ sign flipped in my face was depressing.” Huh? Isn’t
that pretty much when his career took off like a rocket? And now he’s banging Jennifer Aniston, so I’d say he’s doing a hell of a lot better than most of us.

In a roundabout way, he finally gets to the point of announcing his support for Barack Obama and encouraging people to vote for him come election day. You know it killed him not to be able to write, “And by the way, I’m TOTALLY DOING IT WITH JENNIFER ANISTON! SCORE!”
