Promoting his new film with wife, Kelly Preston, and daughter, Ella Bleu, John Travolta made a visit to Ellen DeGeneres to talk about Old Dogs.

Although the picture is a comedy in which Travolta stars opposite Robin Williams, emotions were running high during the interview as the movie star fought back tears when discussing the loss of his 16-year-old son, Jett Travolta.

The actor said, “I just want to take one moment to thank each and every one of you throughout this country, through out the world for all your support and all your love for our family.”

By his side was his 9-year-old daughter and co-star in the movie, Ella Bleu, who makes her film debut alongside her parents. When Ellen asked John, “You are so proud of her, aren’t you?” he responded by saying, “I’m holding back the tears.”
