In Japan to promote his film The Tourist, Johnny Depp appeared freshly shaven and sent fans into a tizzy when he gave a lucky few a hug.

Four lucky audience members were randomly chosen to be given a gift of traditional Japanese sweets by the award winning actor, but the real gift came when Johnny gave each of the lucky winners a hug, causing one of the lucky four to burst into tears of joy.

True to Depp’s style, he arrived wearing purple shades, scarf, and a plethora of necklaces, bracelets and rings. He said of his co-star Angelina Jolie that she was a pleasure to work with and she must have felt the same, even finding another common bond.

“We’re both not that social. I don’t think either one of us goes out of our house, especially in France. We’re both locked away,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
