Johnny Depp & Phillip Seymour Hoffman To Torment Batman?

Christian Bale and wife Sibi Blazac look serene at a garden party. I’m guessing it’s because Christian’s wacky family is miles away. The actor is enjoying some rare free time but before too long, he’ll probably be getting back to work on the follow-up to The Dark Knight.

Rumor has it that The Machinist star will soon find himself working with Johnny Depp and Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the sequel to the Batman movie. MTV News reports that in an interview with Michael Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth, said, “It’s Johnny Depp as The Riddler. And The Penguin is Philip Seymour Hoffman.”

That sounds delicious. Let’s see if they can keep this box office train rolling.

Michael Caine said he heard that from an executive (not Chris Nolan who hasn’t even committed to do another one let alone started a script) and it really seemed like he was just having a laugh about the wild premature casting rumors.
