The Hope Ball for diabetes was a very personal charity event for the Jonas Brothers because of the fact that 16-year-old Nick Jonas was diagnosed with the disease three years ago. During his performance of “A Little Bit Longer” at the event, Nick became emotional.

Chatting with press, Nick revealed how he first became involved with the charity, which benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. “On the day that I got diagnosed, I heard about this event and I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of.”

All kinds of celebs hit the stage, with Denzel Washington and his wife Pauletta received the Brass Ring award for their volunteering efforts. Josh Groban also tickled the ivories on the piano, along with the Jonas Brothers.  Heh. That sounded dirty.
