It was a super-serious-looking Jonathan Rhys-Meyers who received an honorary patronage from The Philosophical Society over the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, his eyes were still crazy as hell, but he was sporting his best somber expressions for the event and wearing a snazzy suit and tie.
The star of The Tudors received the award at a special ceremony at Trinity College. President of the Society Barry Devlin said, “We look for people who we feel represent the spirit and values embodied by former pioneering Irish people like Oscar Wilde. We are delighted to present this award to such a list of diverse and talented individuals like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.”
Also, the ability of Jonathan’s to expand and contract his pupils at will was recognized. The way he can make them look like tea saucers in the blink of an eye is just mind-boggling.

Not sure if he’s on a par with Oscar Wilde though.

That’s my university (Trinity College Dublin)! I was meant to go to see him speak on Sunday but I got the times wrong, which was annoying. I did meet him a couple weeks ago though, he’s quite friendly and polite (though his eyes are even buggier in person).

Check the lad’s waistband. He’s putting on the pounds, isn’t he? Does he have a thyroid condition?
