“American Idol” cutie, Jordin Sparks, says that it took a long time for her to reach acceptance of her body shape, and that winning the nationwide talent search that has made her famous didn’t hurt.
“I think it really helped boost her self-esteem and made her realize she’s beautiful as she is,” her grandmother, Pam Weidmann, tells PEOPLE for its new issue. Jordin’s mom, Jodi, says of her daughter’s May 23 victory: “It was huge to see her confidence level grow. … She’s standing taller now.”
A statuesque 5’10″ and a size 12, girlfriend sounds to me like to be a healthy size. But then again, maybe I’m saying that cause our stats are pretty damn close to each other. But then again, she’s also really pretty and that’s never bad for the ol’ self-esteem.

I think she looks great. She’s got the kind of body that inspires classic songs like the Commodores’ “Brick House” and others. How many songs have been written extolling the beauty of readily visible scapulas and ribs??

I don’t think she’s all that cute or pretty, and she sings like a Munchkin. But I do love the 5’10″ and size 12. That’s a sexy size.

I wouldn’t put her in the ‘fat’ category. Unfortunately hollywood will and I am sure she gonna have to lose pounds if she wants to fit the standards and be accepted. Sad.

I think its great that jordin sparks doesnt fit the stereotype of what hollywood wants people to be. Its time for a change. Im tired of seeing the same ol thing when i flip the channels on my tv. I think jordin sparks is a very pretty girl. She someone that girls can look up to and actually relate to. Hollywood and just ppl in general need to get over themselves and just accept the fact that everyone is not the same. I love jordin not only because she’s a beautiful singer but because she’s a beautiful person. I really like her because she remembers to put God and His word first in her life and chooses to follow his commandments no matter where fame may take her. She didnt let fame and fortune change her and thats what makes her beautiful to me. Not the fact that she skinny or large.
