How does the Lost star stay fit? He hits the gym. Duh? He does weight training 3 days a week, plus kickboxing, jumping rope, or using a treadmill for cardio. On weekends, when time is not a factor, Holloway takes in the beauty of Hawaii. “I have a high-performance kayak for a good arm-and-ab workout,” he says. “Also, there are mountains behind our property with trails that go on forever, so we have epic hiking.”
What if you could be fired because your body no longer looked good? That’s Holloway’s reality. “It’s ridiculous the standard that’s been set,” he says of Hollywood leading men. “What happened to the uni-ab? Now everything’s the eight-pack!”
While he’s happy to be thought of as Men’s Health cover material, Holloway tries to be realistic about his body. “The dude in me is alive and well,” he says with a laugh. “I like to drink beer. But at 36, I don’t care if you have just one cocktail at night; it sticks! If I could change one thing, it would be the self-consciousness about my body. I feel like I’m out of shape at all times. Eventually, I’m just going to have to quit trying to be Brad Pitt in Fight Club.
I just ain’t that, you know?” Then he leans in close. “But here’s what I do like about the pressure of vanity: It keeps you in shape. I like to have to step up and perform, because it forces me to do so.”
