He is truly an incredible musician.

He’s incredibly popular in Latin America. I haven’t heard of him trying to cross-over to music in English though… So maybe that’s why he made that comment.

He really does look a lot better with shorter hair as evidenced by his photos from his album, Fíjate Bien.

With regard to his music, his more recent albums sound a lot more like your pop factory items than the stuff from his first solo album. I personally would blame his apparent inability to integrate his identities of father/committed to someone into his music. He sounds like he’s singing words now, rather than feeling his music.

Of course, that won’t stop me from buying his albums…

Why do they try to compare every latin star that crosses over to Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin Music was thumping music???

Whereas Juanes music is very romantic and very defined in Lyric especially about his country’s plight.

I am not a person who normally buys spanish music but when I heard her music over the net I fell in love with it. I didn’t know what he looked like till I got the album. He is a much more rounded performer than Ricky and doesn’t have to shake his bon bon to prove it.

i’ve heard some of his music before and i think he’s pretty cool. i heard he’s won many awards in latin america before.

Juanes as Luis Miguel once said likes singing in spanish, he believes in singing in his language and it that way entering in other countries…for a Mtv’s awards he had a t-shirt that said “Se habla español”. Now maybe his style is a little more washed out, but he have great social related songs, talks about the polittical situation in his country (wich is pretty difficult) and hell yes! he is nothing like Ricky Martin! He used to play in a metal rock band!
Ricky Martin…I don’t know, I like the guy, but he is too commercial for me…I want more meaningful lyrics, like Arjona! that guy sure can write.

Juanes has won 12 Latin Grammy’s and so many more awards that I don’t have the time nor the energy to name. He writes his own music and his concerts are about the music not about the show.
He says he isn’t the next Ricky Martin because he doesn’t care to sing in english. Nor does he want his concerts to be more about spectacle than about his music. And he definitely wants to keep writing his own music.

He wants to keep being Juanes. He doesn’t care is the american population doesn’t know him. Because Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, The Netherlands, Japan, Spain and all of South America adore him.

Thats not true we Americans here love him to. I really started to listen to his music this years. i came across it by accident on the net. I think his writing and music is fab. I hope he does stick to spanish because alot of things he says are lost in transaltion. The meaning is deeper when its said in his native tongue. Same thing with Shakira the translation of her spanish songs dont sound right. but when I hear them in English the lyrics make more sense.
