The Critics’ Circle Theater Awards honored Jude Law and Rachel Weisz for their performances this season in London. Weisz received the award for best actress for her performance in the lead role of Blanche DuBois in “A Streetcar Named Desire” and Law won best Shakespearean performance for playing the title role in “Hamlet.” The two are pictured at the awards ceremony which took place today.
“The London critics are the toughest and most discerning critics in
the world,” said Weisz.”It really means a huge amount to me that they’re giving me this award – I’m very grateful and proud.”
Both stars also have new films (The Lovely Bones for Weisz and Sherlock Holmes for Law) in time for Oscar consideration, but I have a feeling this will be the only time these two will hold a statuette this awards season.
