Hollywood’s sweetheart Julia Roberts is stepping back into the limelight to play the lead role in the film Larry Crowne.

Roberts plays an outrageous drunk school teacher whose marriage is failing and whose husband is addicted to porn. The film is co-written and directed by Tom Hanks who is extremely passionate about this project. Julia and Tom have been close friends for over ten years. They co-starred in the film Charlie Wilson’s War which was also produced by Tom Hanks. So the reason Julia agreed to take on the film is because of her friendship with Hanks. Roberts is extremely dedicated to her family and needs to be persuaded into leaving her New York and New Mexico homes.

According to Dailyrecord.co.uk, in her spare time, Julia takes up gardening, piano lessons and domestic crafts with her seven year old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and four-year-old son Henry.

“I must have had bags of spare time before I had children but I don’t know what I did with it and I didn’t appreciate it. But it’s such a terrific trade off.” explains Roberts.

The 43-year-old actress is excited about her role in Larry Crowne because she took on the role of  someone who is not the good girl that she would often play in films.

“Tom Hanks sent me this script which was charming and winning – and asked me to play a drunken school teacher.He sent this email that said, ‘this is just business, if you don’t like it, we’re still buddies, have a look and tell me what you think’.I quickly called Tom back and said I would hitch my wagon to his.” Spill Roberts

The film is suppose to send an inspirational message to the millions of browbeaten Americans hit hard by economic recession. Check out the film Larry Crowne which is soon to be in theaters.
