Julianne Hough took a break from promoting Safe Haven to enjoy some time in St. Bart’s. Yesterday (January 3rd) the former Dancing With The Stars professional took a walk with friends, as a candid interview with Cosmopolitan hit the press.
Hough spoke for the first time about the abuse she endured while training at London’s Italia Conti dance school, beginning in 1999.
“While I was in London, I was abused – mentally, physically, everything,’ Hough told the magazine. ”I was ten years old, looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer.
“I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love.”
Hough was then told by an unidentified person that if she ever wanted to go back home to the states, three things would happen…
“One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a slut. So, it was like, I can’t go back. I have to be this person.”
Hough spent five years at the academy, and things only got worse as she got older.
“I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody,” She insisted. ”What’s past is past. But it got worse when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.”
