Kate Gosselin Filed No-Fault Divorce From Husband Jon

June 29th, 2009 // Leave a Comment

Divorce papers filed in Pennsylvania have leaked to the press, revealing that Kate Gosselin is claiming a no-fault divorce.

This is the first step of the process and two years from now, if they haven’t resolved the grounds for divorce, the other spouse can file an affidavit claiming the marriage is irretrievably broken and they can sort out any remaining financial issues from there.

Lawyers often refer to this as a “divorce with dignity” because neither spouse is assigning blame to the other.

However, the highly public nature of this reality TV couple’s divorce means Jon Gosselin and his future ex-wife probably have a few more classy People magazine covers in ‘em.
