Not for herself, but for her soon to be ex-husband Chris Robinson. Hudson is said to be house hunting near her home in Malibu Canyon for a house to buy for Robinson.
“Kate feels like Chris was very generous throughout their relationship and that buying him a house is the least that she can do for him,” the insider says, adding that Chris doesn’t have the money it would take to buy the kind of real estate Kate is looking at.
“Kate wants Ryder to have a nice place to go stay when he’s spending time with his dad,” the insider says.
It seems as if the breakup of the marriage is pretty amicable, so Chris living in house near Kate might not be a such a bad thing.

Chris doesn’t have enough money? What about all the money he received from touring just recently? He must have spend it all of nuggs and beer.
