The sudden announcement that Private Practice star Kate Walsh and her hubby Alex Young are splitting so shortly after the two got hitched last September seemed to surprise everyone.

A spy dished to Star magazine that Kate and her hubby appeared to be on excellent terms at the 30th birthday bash for former Grey’s Anatomy co-star Katherine Heigl. “There were no signs that there was any trouble in paradise,” the insider dished.

But Star also claims the reason that Young filed for divorce late last month is because of the closeness that has developed between Kate and her Private Practice co-star David Sutcliffe. A tipster tattled, “Kate and David had a real connection playing lovers on the show, and she didn’t seem to have that with her own husband.”
