Kate Winslet Cheers On Andy Murray At Wimbledon

July 2nd, 2009 // 1 Comment

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet was mightily impressed with the performance delivered by Scottish tennis player Andy Murray during the final four at Wimbledon this week.

Star of The Reader cheered enthusiastically during a standing ovation for the 22-year-old tennis player as he made his way to the semi-finals for the event. Murray’s win over the the former World Number 1, Juan Carlos Ferrero, took place after a one hour and 41-minute match.

The young man has the opportunity to make history as the first British man since 1936 to win the singles title at the All England Club, provided he can make his way past Roger Federer and Andy Roddick. It’s a daunting task, but Kate will assuredly be there to provide moral support from the stands along the way.
