Kate Winslet’s Daughter Gives Her Gray Dress A Thumbs-Down

February 24th, 2009 // 3 Comments

Overwhelmed with emotion at the podium to accept her Oscar for Best Lead actress, Kate Winslet headed backstage to give her children a call.

On yesterday’s episode of Oprah Winfrey‘s talk show, Kate said she asked her 8-year-old daughter Mia, “Hi, Mia, did you jump up and down?” To this, her little girl replied, “Yes, I did, Mum, I did. I need to talk to you about the dress–it was gray.”

According to Kate, Mia was “mortified” at Kate’s Yves Saint Laurent gown, which was tailor-made for the star of The Reader. As far as Mia is concerned, gray is far from being the new black.
