“American Idol” runner-up Katharine McPhee got married to producer Nick Cokas on Saturday in Beverly Hills. The two have been friends since they met in 2005 while working on a production of “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. The two of them got serious when Katharine made it onto “American Idol”. Mmm hmmm. She lost, and her record company recently dropped her so I hope Nick’s got some scratch on him.
These “Idol” kids can be an iffy proposition. It can really go either way. You can be a Clay Aiken, or a Carrie Underwood and be bringing moonbeams home in a jar. Or you can wind up like Jessica Sierra, getting in barfights and shooting amateur porn in hotel room bathtubs. Not cute. So it’s not always the path to riches. Katharine, 23, and Nick, 42 (this cradle has been robbed!) got married at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church in a late afternoon ceremony. She describes him as “the love of my life.” Look, maybe yours is a special love story but most ladies I know at 23 want to be up in the club getting low and teasing the mens for laughs with their friends. In their apple bottom jeans and boots with the fur. Katie, why are you throwing down your anchor at 23?

Good for her. She may be young but she’s not a whore. She fell in love and got married. That’s the right thing to do! A great example for young women!
