Katie Holmes looked very business like for her fashion week debut. She wore black jeans, along with the leather jacket, a gold chain and red nails for the Holmes & Yang show.
Prior to the showcase, the PR team responsible for looking after Katie sent a stern warning to the press. In an email sent last night, the agency made it clear that security would be tight at the event.
“Please note that tomorrow’s Holmes & Yang presentation is CLOSED to all media, unless you have already been approved by their team,” the statement warned, according to the New York Post. “No media will be allowed to enter the venue, unless you have a direct invitation from the Holmes & Yang PR team.”
Among the designs were leather bomber jackets, blazers and camisoles which were all teamed with Manolo Blahnik heels.
The dresses, shorts and coats clearly showed a preference for boyish tailoring with a feminine touch, The Guardian wrote.
The Los Angeles Times said Holmes and Yang circulated the room, explaining to magazine editors the focus of the collection is on elevating casual dressing “because looking stylish and casual is often harder than dressing up.”
The actress recently told WWD that she and Yang wanted to present their line at Fashion Week “because the brand is growing and expanding … we thought we would have something a little more substantial.”
Congrats on your first show Katie!
