Katie Couric Quote Taken out of Context

July 24th, 2006 // Leave a Comment

An old quote by Katie Couric, taken out of context, was used by “Access Hollywood” to indicate that Katie Couric had no intention of venturing into dangerous war zones during her stint as the new anchor of the “CBS Evening News.”

On the show’s web site, it was stated: “Katie Couric, who takes over the ‘CBS Evening News’ in September, told ‘Access Hollywood’ that at this point, she would not venture into the Middle East hot spot. ‘I think the situation there is so dangerous, and as a single parent with two children, that’s something I won’t be doing,’ Katie said.”

Apparently, the context of the quote was from a May 30th interview, and was in reaction to a question of, “whether or not she would go to Iraq in light of injured CBS News correspondent Kimberly Dozier.”

In an unrelated story, Access Hollywood also reports that my 25-yeard old sister aspires to become a singing veterinarian.
