Katie Holmes should be a very happy person right about now. RadarOnline reports that Katie just barely escaped some nasty injuries in Australia over the weekend on the set of her new movie Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Apparently, Katie was shooting a scene inside a car, when the car’s battery exploded and creating smoke and fumes before the car caught fire. And no, none of this exploding car business was in the film. Maybe the car didn’t like her Judy Garland tribute?

Wait, but are you ready for it? Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is the remake of a 1973 made for TV movie about a woman being stalked by…evil gnomes. Gnomes. Evil. Evil gnomes. I’m gonna let that one sink in for a bit.

Tom Cruise didn’t seem that shaken over the car attacking his wife. He was seen Sunday night enjoying a nice dinner at Giorgio Baldi Restaurant in Santa Monica with his son, Connor Cruise. Clearly evil gnomes are no match for Tom Cruise!
