Wearing Gucci‘s hot-to-trot color block collection, Katy Perry covered March 2011′s Elle Magazine.  This time around, the newly divorced singer, 27, nabbed a top spot on the coveted September issue.  The look (shot by Carter Smith and styled by Joe Zee) was harder, perhaps a reflection of the trying times she’s faced recently, in the wake of her split with Russell Brand.

I do fancy the September dress (crepe Bottega Venneta. To die for).

“I have no regrets…I’m not going to be everything to everyone,” Perry said in the issue, out August 14th.  I can’t tell a person when it’s time for them to have sex.  Or if they should have a cigarette…But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message.”
