Wow. Former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler went all out with her gold lamé fishtail dress covered in shiny scales. This one was determined to look like a mermaid on the red carpet for the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards. The only thing missing is long, cascading waves of crimped hair.
Another blonde country bombshell who chose to step out in gold was fellow reality TV star Julianne Hough, of Dancing With The Stars fame. Hers was just as sparkly, but in a more classic cut.
Host for the evening, Reba McEntire enjoyed a dizzying array of quick changes, but started off on the red carpet in a jewel-toned purple dress. Reba’s never been one to shy away from bright colors that set off her fiery red locks.
